Elimia offers three different types of Combination Motor Starters:
As with each set up the customer should know some details about the application in order to obtain the right size and right controls. At a minimum you will need to know the control Voltage, main Voltage and HP. Additional details can be found under the Technical Support tab and within the sub-catagory of Combination Motor Starter.
As with all our enclosed motor starters and controllers, they are pre-wired and ready to install. In most cases a simple 3 in and 3 out plus ground is all that is needed.
The most basic "combo starter" unit is a motor starter with separate disconnect switch and door mounted disconnect handle. This type unit meets the requirements for a local disconnect means and motor starter in one unit. It can be customizable online to include various options. By adding a UL489 din rail mounted miniture circuit breaker (MCB) the unit becomes a Type C combination motor controller. Several modifications options are available from the options menus on the product listing.
Another option is the Type C unit that uses a molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) with integral disconnect handle. These combination controllers are available in a wide range of HP models. A MCCB typically has a higher SCCR kA rating which is required in some applications.
Lastly, is the Type F combinaton motor controller. This units utilizes a manual motor starter with a integral door mounted handle. This type unit does not need a circuit breaker or overload relay - these functions are built in the manual starter.
